Member Businesses of Turkmenistan’s UIET Planted Over 13 Million Trees
Fresh fruits grown by Turkmen businesses are sold in local markets and are processed in factories.

Member Businesses of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) have planted over the past ten years more than 13 million seedlings of fruit trees and grapes in the country, 70% of which have already begun to yield fruits.

Fresh fruits from the private sector are delivered to the markets of the country and are sent for processing to the factories of Turkmen businesses, the UIET said in its Wednesday report. The factories process them into juices, purees, jams, and other products.

The UIET also consults private businesses on increasing the yield of agricultural crops and conducting agrotechnical measures. Particular attention is paid to decimating the principles of rational water use, the introduction of water-saving technologies, the use of modern insulating materials (geotextiles, geomembranes) to eliminate the loss of water resources.

Established in 2008, the UIET unites over 25 thousand businesses working in different sectors of the economy.
