Kiyanli Polymer Plant, Ahal GTG Plant Now Operate Under Türkmenhimiýa
Kiyanly polymer plant is designed to produce 386 thousand tons of polyethylene and 81 thousand tons of polypropylene annually.

Gas chemical complex in Kiyanly in Balkan velayat and the plant for the production of gasoline from gas in Ahal velayat (Ahal GTG Plant) were transferred from the jurisdiction of Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern to the jurisdiction of Türkmenhimiýa (Turkmen Chemicals) State Concern.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday announced his decision to transfer these plants to the Türkmenhimiýa SC in order to stabilize the work of these enterprises and release the Türkmengaz SC from duties outside its competence, the country’s official media reports.

After signing the relevant Resolution, the Head of State instructed the heads of the aforementioned concerns to draw up all the documents for the acceptance and delivery of these enterprises in a short period of time.

During the government meeting, President of Turkmenistan also noted the importance of carrying out repairs of oil wells in a timely manner and ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of commercial oil to refineries.

In order to regulate natural gas production and increase the reliability of its provision to consumers, it is necessary to actively approach the issue of building underground gas storage facilities, the Head of State emphasized.

Kiyanly polymer plant was constructed by South Korean and Japanese companies and commissioned in October 2018. The plant is designed to process 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas and produce 386 thousand tons of polyethylene and 81 thousand tons of polypropylene annually.

Ahal GTG Plant is designed to annually process 1 billion 785 million cubic meters of natural gas and produce 600 thousand tons of ECO-93 gasoline that meets the EURO-5 standard, as well as diesel fuel and liquefied gas.
