Turkmenistan, Russia Discuss Joint Investment, Production Projects
Turkmen and Russian representatives signed a number of documents upon the outcome of the Turkmen-Russian Economic Forum.

The 8th Turkmen-Russian Economic Forum, organized by the chambers of commerce and industry of the countries, was held online on Wednesday. The sides discussed joint investment and production projects, strengthening and expansion of cooperation in the industry field and production of building materials, textile industry, agriculture, in the spheres of logistics, tourism and digital technologies.

The Russian side was represented by heads and representatives of numerous ministries, government agencies and organizations, banking and financial entities, chambers of commerce and industry of the regions, and leading companies, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.

The Turkmen side included management and specialists of sectoral ministries and departments, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, enterprises and companies.

The forum participants said the intensification of bilateral ties with the regions and the largest industrial centers of Russia is one of the priority directions of the foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan.

The forum featured discussions on conditions and opportunities for expanding export and investment potential. The participants presented an overview of investment projects and prospects for economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia in the new conditions.

The program of the business meeting also included a discussion of cooperation in the spheres of industry and construction production, housing construction, agriculture, equipment production, and textile production. Representatives of leading companies and enterprises of the two countries briefed on their export capabilities and import needs in these industries.

The sides also focused on the use of the Turkmenbashi International Port as a logistics center in the Caspian region and investment opportunities in the shipbuilding industry.

The forum participants said the significant incentive for holding the current economic forum was the agreements reached earlier in the framework of the high-level talks between Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin, as well as the successful activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation.
