The foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan with Turkmenistan from January to September of 2021 exceeded $143.7 million, according to the data of the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of Kazakhstan.
During the first nine months of this year, Kazakhstan imported products from Turkmenistan for over $36 million. At the same time, the country's exports to Turkmenistan exceeded $107.7 million.
The total nine-month foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan exceeded $72.76 billion, an increase of $8.2 billion, or 12.7%, compared to the same period in 2020.
Russia became the largest foreign trade partner of Kazakhstan during this period – more than $17.2 billion, with exports exceeding $12.1 billion, and imports nearing – $5.1 billion.
Other main partners of Kazakhstan by trade during this period were China (over $13.47 billion), Italy (nearly $6.68 billion), Turkey (nearly $2.96 billion), Uzbekistan (over $2.65 billion) and the Netherlands (over $3.46 billion).
During the first nine months of 2021, Kazakhstan’s grain supplies to Turkmenistan increased by 27% compared to the same period last year. From January to Kazakhstan has shipped 13 thousand tons of grain to Turkmenistan via the railway during the period.
