The Central Bank of Turkmenistan issued gold and silver coins in denomination of 100 manats each dedicated to the 15th Summit of Heads of State of the Economic Cooperation Organization to be held in Ashgabat on November 28, the ECO day, the official Turkmen media reported on Thursday.
The numismatic novelties were manufactured by Eng Leong Medallis Industries Pte Ltd of of Singapore. The obverse of the coin depicts the outline of the globe, with the ECO symbol in the center. The inscription "YKDYSADY HYZMATDAŞLYK GURAMASYNA AGZA DÖWLETLERIŇ DÖWLET BAŞTUTANLARYNYŇ 15-NJI DUŞUŞUŞYGY" is on the top and both sides, and the year of coin issue "2021" and two small octagonal patterns are in the bottom.
The gold coin, with a diameter of 38.61 mm and a weight of 39.94 grams, is made from 916.7 fine gold. The silver coin, with the same diameter and a weight of 28.28 grams, is made from 925 sterling silver. The high quality of the coins – proof – is guaranteed by the attached certificate of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan.
The reverse side traditionally bears the State Emblem of Turkmenistan in the center with the inscription "TÜRKMENISTANYŇ MERKEZI BANKY" set along the upper edge of the coin in the semicircle above the Emblem. At the bottom there is an inscription that indicates the denomination of the coin - "ÝÜZ MANAT", and on the left side of it are the fineness and weight of numismatic novelties. The inscriptions are separated by octagonal patterns.
Turkmenistan, which holds the ECO chairmanship this year, will host the organization’s 15th summit.
The ECO is a regional interstate economic organization founded in 1985. The members of the organization are Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
