Businesses of Central Asian States, South Korea Mull Joint Projects

The first Business Forum of the business circles of the countries of Central Asia and South Korea took place in a hybrid format in Dushanbe. The event's agenda included discussions on the involvement of small and medium-sized businesses in the implementation of joint projects, including e-commerce, agribusiness, food security, industrial development, transport and logistics, investment cooperation, in order to develop the export potential of participating countries and create a sustainable network of cooperation between businesses of South Korea and Central Asian countries.

The event was organized on the eve of the 14th Central Asia – Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum, the Tajik Chamber of Commerce and Industry said in its press release.

The Turkmen side at the business forum was represented by the Chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Dovran Hudayberdiyev. The forum was also attended by the director of the Korean Association of Professional Engineers and representatives of the chamber of commerce and industry of Central Asian states.

The event was organized in order to implement the Memorandum of Understanding between the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea on the establishment of the Business Council, signed on June 29, 2020, as well as to expand business contacts between the business communities of the countries of Central Asia and South Korea.

This forum became a platform to discuss further trade and investment cooperation of business circles in priority areas, with the participation of representatives of the private sector.

In accordance with the program, bilateral talks between entrepreneurs took place after the official part of the forum.
