Over 3 Million Liras Donated in Turkmenistan For Quake-Hit Türkiye
Turkish Ambassador to Turkmenistan Togan Oral

Citizens of Turkmenistan and Türkiye, staying in Turkmenistan, donated more than 3 million Turkish Liras for the victims of the earthquakes in Kahramanmarash on February 6, Turkish Ambassador to Ashgabat Togan Oral said in a press release of the Turkish Embassy published on Friday.

"Donations worth over 3 million Turkish liras were made by goodhearted citizens of Turkmenistan and our citizens to a bank account opened by our embassy," Togan Oral said.

The Turkish Ambassador also stressed that Turkmenistan was one of the first states to take action to help those affected by the earthquake in Türkiye.

Togan Oral informed about receipt and distribution of humanitarian aid sent by Turkmenistan to the disaster areas. The Turkish envoy said 7 doctors, 3 medical workers and 30 tons of medicines and medical products were sent to Gaziantep on February 7, 2023, and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Fund delivered medicines for children, clothes and food with total weight of 92 tons to the earthquake zone on February 10.

The Turkish Embassy in Ashgabat, in cooperation with the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan and the Women's Union of Turkmenistan, collected and shipped 7 tents, 60 heaters, 20 generators, 667 mattresses, 6,835 blankets and another 23.45 tons of humanitarian aid, including hygiene products, clothing and food by Turkish Airlines flight and trucks provided by Turkmen logistics companies.

"On behalf of our government, our state and our people, I would like to express our gratitude to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairman Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the brotherly Turkmen people, state institutions and associations, private companies, as well as our citizens living in Turkmenistan and Turkish companies operating in Turkmenistan, their managers and employees," Togan Oral said, noting that Turkmenistan and its people have shown brotherly solidarity.
