A Sadaqah was given at Hezreti Omar mosque in Turkmen capital Ashgabat in memory of victims of the devastating earthquake in Türkiye. The sadaqah was organized at the expense of funds raised from the sale of books by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, country's official media reported on Wednesday.
Halk Maslahaty Chairman warmly welcomed religious representatives from Türkiye, who arrived in Ashgabat to attend the event. During the talks, the sides underscored the importance of further development of Turkmen-Turkish relations, especially humanitarian relations with centuries-old history.
Expressing deep gratitude to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the warm attitude to the memory of the deceased, the Turkish guests took the opportunity to thank him for the invitation and organization of the memorial event.
The guests conveyed words of sincere sympathy to the relatives and friends of numerous victims of the devastating earthquake and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.
"And may our sadaqah and ayat prayers be heard and accepted by the souls of the victims and the Almighty! May the victims of the Turkish earthquake be in paradise! May Allah grant their souls with peace!" Chairman of Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
The National Leader of Turkmen people, visiting the Turkish Embassy in Ashgabat in early February, expressed sympathy to the representatives of the brotherly country.
