The upcoming China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project will open up new opportunities for Kyrgyzstan, allowing the country to overcome its transport constraints, according to Daniyar Amangeldiev, Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Trend reported on Thursday.

Minister Amangeldiev emphasised the railway as a significant measure to address Kyrgyzstan's transportation challenges and geographical limitations, offering a strategic solution to enhance regional connectivity. The ministry also explores an alternative corridor connecting Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, the Caucasus, Russia, and the Persian Gulf, diversifying routes and expanding trade prospects.

The ministry has established trade representations in China, Uzbekistan, and Türkiye to bolster economic growth, aiming to diversify markets and discover new export-import opportunities. Kyrgyzstan also plans to open a representation office at Uzbekistan's Termez International Trade Center, enabling access to markets in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.

The envisioned China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is a 454-kilometre rail link to integrate the railway networks of these three countries.
