The National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Balkan Province as part of a working trip to inspect preparations for the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. Participants and guests of the international forum are expected to arrive at Turkmenbashi International Airport in August, so special attention was given to this facility during the inspection on Thursday, according to Turkmen official media.
At the airport terminal, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty was briefed on the modern procedures for passport and customs control. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of efficient service and high standards, especially given the expected arrival of numerous foreign delegations.
Regarding the commercial development and management of the airport terminal, the National Leader recommended preparing special souvenirs for incoming guests and providing relevant guidelines. The trade points offer a wide range of the best eco-friendly and high-quality products by Turkmen entrepreneurs, which enjoy strong demand in both domestic and international markets.
On the airport grounds, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected new specialized equipment and stressed the necessity of its proper operation. As part of the runway condition assessment process, he personally conducted a test drive in a sports car, evaluating the surface condition and maneuvering speed.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also visited the Avaza National Tourist Zone, where active preparations are underway for the cultural segment of the forum. Work is progressing on the portable stage platform, multimedia equipment, and Caspian-themed landscaping.
Special attention was given to logistics, parking, guest accommodation, and a national cuisine showcase. Berdimuhamedov underlined that the international forum should be held at a high level, showcasing Turkmen hospitality, cultural heritage, and neutrality.
The National Leader also went for a sail on the Caspian Sea during his visit.
