President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Monday took part in the opening ceremony of a new glass production facility located in an industrial complex in northern Ashgabat, according to official Turkmen media.

Prior to the facility's commissioning, the Head of State toured an exhibition showcasing achievements of the construction and industrial sector, featuring samples of domestically manufactured goods — ranging from construction materials to electronic components.

The newly launched plant is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and operates entirely on locally sourced raw materials, including quartz sand, dolomite, limestone, and others. The facility has a daily production capacity of 100 tons of glass containers. Its technological process includes melting at temperatures up to 1,500 degrees Celsius, molding, cooling, and automated quality control.

A fully equipped laboratory has been established at the plant, featuring instruments from leading global manufacturers. These allow for strength testing, geometric measurements, and load resistance analysis, ensuring that the products meet international quality standards.

The quality of the plant’s output is certified by Germany’s Horn Glass Industries, as well as Italy’s Vetromeccanica and Bottero. During the opening ceremony, the President presented the enterprise’s management with keys to new vehicles and specialized equipment.

In his remarks, the Turkmen leader noted that new villages, social infrastructure facilities, and a modern park in Ashgabat will soon be inaugurated as part of the celebrations for the country’s 34th Independence Day.

The launch of the glass plant is expected to create hundreds of jobs, fully meet domestic demand for glass containers, and pave the way for exports. The use of local raw materials reduces production costs and enhances the competitiveness of the plant’s products.
