Turkmenistan supports expanding international cooperation aimed at ensuring reliable, sustainable and diversified energy supplies to global markets, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev said at the second meeting of heads of government and vice presidents of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) on Thursday in Baku, Trend reported.

Particular attention is being given to the implementation of joint energy projects, the development of infrastructure and the strengthening of interconnectivity among energy markets, Atagulyyev said. Taking into account the interests of all stakeholders — producers, transit countries and consumers — remains central to Turkmenistan’s energy policy.

Atagulyyev emphasized that Turkmenistan is already actively cooperating with a number of Turkic states in the gas and energy sectors and intends to consistently expand this partnership.

Joint initiatives, he said, contribute to strengthening economic ties and enhancing regional and interregional energy security.

The vice premier added that Turkmenistan places priority on the development of international transport corridors along the East-West and North-South routes.
