Transit cargo volumes through the Incheh Borun border crossing in Golestan Province increased by 48% in the period from March 20 to April 20, reaching 4,000 tons worth $13 million, Director General of Golestan Customs Shahriyar Shahriyari said, according to Islamic Republic News Agency.

The growth in transit was accompanied by an increase in regional exports. In total, 65,000 tons of non-oil goods worth $29 million were exported from Golestan through all customs checkpoints during the reporting period.

Exports mainly consisted of agricultural and industrial products, including pistachios, steel bars, cheese, wood panels, pipes and profiles, beverages, polyethylene and iodine. Central Asian countries were the main destinations.

Incheh Borun is a major rail and port border crossing between Iran and Turkmenistan, located in northeastern Iran in Golestan Province near the Caspian Sea coast. It handles both rail and road international transit routes.
