About 5,300 jobs will be created in Turkmenistan by the end of 2026 through the construction of new enterprises and the reconstruction of existing ones, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced during a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty held Wednesday in Ashgabat.
According to the Head of state, particular attention is being paid to improving employment based on the Concept for the Development of the Labor Market of Turkmenistan through 2030. The President noted that work in this area will continue to further improve the system of employment for citizens.
Speaking about the development of the gas industry, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the start of the fourth phase of development of the Galkynysh field. This year, with the participation of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, construction began on a modern plant with an annual capacity of 10 billion cubic meters of marketable gas. More than 1,000 new jobs will soon be created at the facility.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also said that as production increases across economic sectors, the growth rate of gross domestic product remains at the set level. This macroeconomic indicator is expected to reach 6.3% by the end of this year.
The Head of state noted that the country is simultaneously implementing major programs aimed at strengthening social protection for citizens and significantly improving their social and living conditions. In particular, new modern villages, settlements and cities with a favorable social environment for comfortable living, work and recreation are being built.
