The Spanish Super Cup 2027 will be held in Istanbul from Feb. 2-6. Türkiye will host the tournament for the first time, after it was previously held outside Spain in Morocco and Saudi Arabia. Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Real Sociedad and Real Madrid will take part in the competition, the Culture and Tourism Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Turkmenistan reported.
The agreements on organizing the tournament were signed Sept. 17 at the Hasan Doğan Complex of the Turkish Football Federation in Istanbul. The ceremony was attended by Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, President of the World Ethnosport Confederation Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia Turki Alalshikh, President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation Rafael Louzan and President of the Turkish Football Federation İbrahim Ethem Hacıosmanoğlu.
The tournament will feature two semifinals and a final. On Feb. 2, Barcelona will face Atletico Madrid at Chobani Stadium Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Sports Complex. On Feb. 3, Real Sociedad will play Real Madrid at Tüpraş Stadium. The final will take place Feb. 6 at Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex — RAMS Park.
Since 2020, the Spanish Super Cup has been held in a four-team format. In Istanbul, the tournament will be played at three stadiums. Chobani Stadium has a capacity of about 48,000 spectators, Tüpraş Stadium has more than 42,000, and RAMS Park has more than 53,000.
Istanbul previously hosted the UEFA Champions League finals in 2005 and 2023, as well as the UEFA Europa League final in 2026.
