Turkmen Carbamide Exports to Turkey Have Seen a Sharp Increase

In the first five months of the current year, carbamide imports of Turkey decreased by 12% compared to the same period of the previous year.

However, exports of urea from Iran to Turkey increased to 465 thousand tons from 197 thousand tons last year while carbamide deliveries from Turkmenistan to Turkey increased to 105 thousand tons from 24 thousand tons compared with the same period previous year.

Turkmen carbamide is exported to Turkey through the territories of Azerbaijan and Georgia via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway route.

Turkmen carbamide is in great demand in the global market. It is produced by several large enterprises in the country. In September 2018, on the shores of the Caspian Sea, Turkmenistan launched a carbamide plant in Garabogaz with annual production capacity of 1 million 155 thousand tons.
