Subsidiary Farm of Dashoguz Sanatorium Harvests First Banana Crop
The sanatorium plans to increase the number of banana trees in the future.

Dashoguz sanatorium harvested a banana crop for the first time this year in its greenhouse. The specialists of the sanatorium’s subsidiary farm, located in Dashoguz velayat in northern Turkmenistan, currently harvest bananas from several dozen trees.

Sahet Sapargeldiyev said that growing bananas requires regular care and added that they have managed to receive the harvest in first attempt.

“Due to the fact that banana tree grows in hot countries, its care demands a lot of heat. Therefore, caring for it is not easy. In the future, we plan to increase the number of trees. We have both experience and opportunities for it,” said Sapargeldiyev.

The sanatorium covers 4.5 hectares of land. 12 hectares of land, also belonging to the sanatorium has been planted with trees. The sanatorium also plans to develop another 15 hectares of land for growing vegetables and fruits.

Daşoguz Sanatorium, located 12 km from the city of the same name, has been operating since 2014.
