Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) hosted a meeting of local businesses with scientists of the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Neytralnyi Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Monday.
During the meeting, the scientists made presentations of their developments of new types of products, which can be successfully used by businesses in terms of import substitution of raw materials and products. In turn, representatives of the private sector informed scientists about the technologies they are ready to introduce into their production for the purpose of import substitution.
The scientists made a presentation of more than ten chemicals derived from local raw materials, including copper sulfate, a coagulant for water purification, isopropyl alcohol, surfactants, magnesium oxide, solvents for paints and varnishes, activated carbon, additives to animal and bird feeds.
Gochmyrat Amannazarov, a senior researcher at the Institute of Chemistry, said the scientists not only offer their developments to businesses, but also help introduce them into production and create a production line for the manufacture of these products.
Since January 1, 2020, the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan was the first of the country's research institutions to fully transfer to self-financing. According to the new structure, the institute's divisions include 4 laboratories and 4 departments, which are transferred to self-financing through the implementation of orders and services.
Partially, the Institute switched to self-financing in 2014. Then, the volume of profit from the performed services on an economic contractual basis amounted to 1 million manats and in 2019 this figure increased to 4.365 million manats.
