A farmer Miwe Kulliyeva managed to collect 30 centners of beans from each of the 3.70 hectares of land in Kerki etrap of Turkmenistan’s northeastern velayat of Lebap in last harvest season, Türkmen Gündogary newspaper reported on Monday.
This year, the farmer planted the beans on 4 hectares of land and plans to harvest 35 centners of the crop per hectare.
“Beans are a catch crop. The harvest ripens in 100 days. This legume is quite capricious, so it is necessary to constantly maintain soil moisture. After flowering, irrigation should be carried out periodically," said Kulliyeva, sharing the subtleties of cultivating beans.
Farmer Miwe Kulliyeva has been producing beans on a land plot leased on a contract basis in the Osman Sohbetov village of the Kerki etrap since 2015.
