Turkmen Capital Ashgabat to Build New Apartment Buildings, Park

The new park, apartment buildings, shopping centers and social facilities will be built in Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat.

Charymyrat Purchekov, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government in charge of the construction, industrial and energy issues, presented the new projects that will be carried out in the capital to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during his inspection of constructions in Ashgabat on Tuesday, the country’s official media reports.

The park to be erected on the west side of Bitarap Turkmenistan Avenue will include creative center for children and youth, an indoor pavilion for electronic games, an amusement zone, as well as tea houses and restaurants. It will also house children's play centers, playgrounds and bicycle paths.

The Vice-Premier then presented sketches of future residential and other buildings that will be built along Gurbansoltan Eje Avenue in the capital. Eighteen nine-storey residential buildings, two two-storey shopping malls, a school for 720 students, a kindergarten for 320 children, parking lots and sports grounds will be built there.

Gurtly Residential Complex will also be expanded westward along Gurbansoltan Eje Avenue.

At the same time, it is planned to build new modern houses in place of demolished old wooden houses. Sketches of apartment houses proposed for erection on Myati Kosayev Street were submitted to the Head of State for consideration. The Vice-Premier also briefed on the construction of numerous engineering constructions.

Among the submitted projects to President Berdimuhamedov are the proposed plans for the renovation of the Main Flag Square in the southern part of the city, and a number of sketches and schemes for the improvement and expansion of the surrounding area.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov flew over the capital with a helicopter to inspect the ongoing construction works.
