The Turkmen-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation held its 11th meeting on Wednesday in Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat, the Watan habarlary news program reports.
The meeting participants stated the importance of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan in the trade-economic and scientific-technical fields, and reached a number of agreements on the development and expansion of cooperation in existing areas.
The sides also highlighted the importance of continuing effective cooperation in important areas of interaction.
In the economic sphere between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, the parties expressed their interest in strengthening trade- economic and investment cooperation, as well as their interest in providing equal opportunities, guarantees and creating conditions for competition in both countries.
The meeting participants also exchanged views on the active establishment of cooperation in the areas of trade-economic, investmens, energy and water resources, transport, industry, agriculture, science and education, healthcare, culture and art, sports and youth policy.
