The Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez said Türkiye has already started concrete work on the gas hub project.

Türkiye has begun work on the gas hub project proposed by Russia, the preliminary terms of preparation are one year, the infrastructure is being assessed, RIA Novosti news website reported, citing the country’s Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez as saying in an interview with TVnet.

"We intend to take advantage of this project, there are opportunities and terminals for this," Donmez.

The Turkish side has already started concrete work, Donmez stated and said he believes that over time, European countries' interest in the project could increase.

"We won't be pegging the price to anyone. It will be a kind of supermarket, where there are offers," Donmez told during the interview.

Last month, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan instructed the Energy Ministry to reach a decision on the export of Turkmen natural gas to Europe within a month. He also informed that this issue could be finally resolved during the visit of Turkmen President to Türkiye in January.
