DPM Geldimyradov: EEU Nations are Important Trade Partners of Turkmenistan

“The EEU member countries are important trade partners of Turkmenistan, cooperation with which has a solid potential and covers various sectors of the economy,” said Deputy Prime Minister Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, speaking at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Sochi, Russia on Thursday, the News Central Asia agency reported.

"Today, trade, economic and investment cooperation between our states acquire a strategic focus on the formation of an extensive transport logistics system," the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Speaking about the potential of cooperation in the transport sector with the EEU countries, the head of the Turkmen delegation said that Turkmenistan is dynamically developing transport and logistics infrastructure and has built a network of modern roads and bridges.

"We are ready for joint development of the transport route Central Asia - the Caspian Sea - the Black Sea and Central Asia - the Persian Gulf," Hojamyrat Geldimyradov stressed.

"The increase of cargo flows between our states, as well as the use of transit routes, will allow for the activation of transport corridors from Central Asia to China and Europe," the Deputy Prime Minister added.

The Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister expressed confidence that the establishment of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EAEU member states could not only bring mutual economic and commercial benefits to the parties, but also create additional conditions for the integration of states.
