Ezber Daýhan farm enterprise, specializing in growing seedlings in Turkmenistan’s Ahal velayat, started cultivation of paulownia seedlings for the first time in the country.
In an interview with the Rysgal newspaper, the founder of the company Arslan Nurgeldiyev said over 500 seedlings are currently growing on the experimental site in Ak Bugday etrap.
“Breeding Paulownia is economically profitable: it is unpretentious and literally all parts of the tree - the trunk, leaves, and flowers are highly quoted on the world market,” Nurgeldiyev said. “They are widely used in the manufacture of furniture and musical instruments, cooking, pharmaceuticals, perfumery, and biotechnologies.”
“The benefits of the paulownia can be observed in an average of 20-50 years. Every 4-8 years, the tree can be cut at any time of the year, after which it starts to grow again,” the businessman Nurgeldiyev said regarding the benefits of the tree. “Already there are customers for the growing paulownia trees, which testify to the success of our new production.”
Ezber daýhan, which provides farmers of the velayat with about 1 million zoned varieties of tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers, operate greenhouses and 100 hectares of agricultural land.
In greenhouses and in the open ground, the farmers of the company annually receive several crop yields and sell 100-120 tons of vegetables. State and private manufacturers working in the processing and canning segment acquire most of the products.
Ezber Daýhan also provides services in the construction of greenhouses and their technical equipment. Another area of the company’s activity is plant breeding. Currently, the enterprise tests six tomato varieties and three varieties of hot and bell peppers in the plant nursery.
