Turkmen President Instructs to Bolster Coronavirus Preventive Measures

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Purli Agamyradov and Minister of Education Mammetmyrat Geldiniyazov on Wednesday discussed the fight against the negative effects of the spread of coronavirus infection in the world, and measures to prevent the spread of the disease into the country.

The Head of State said timely preventive measures were introduced in Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan President said taking into account the global coronavirus pandemic, all the necessary measures should be taken to prevent its entry into Turkmenistan.

The Head of State then gave the floor to Vice-Premier Purli Agamyradov to brief on the works carried out in the relevant structures in regard to the difficult situation.

The Vice-Premier briefed on the situation in the spheres under his supervision, including healthcare, science and education institutions, sports and public organizations, and on current preventive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus into the country.

After the briefing, the Head of State instructed to carry out further comprehensive work to prevent the entry of the acute respiratory illness into Turkmenistan and to make every effort to ensure its effectiveness.

In order to analyze the health status of all groups of the population, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to organize preventive medical examination, including additional methods of control in accordance with the legislation of Turkmenistan.

In this regard, the Turkmen Leader said it is necessary to create special groups of medical workers who will carry out systematic activities in accordance with the relevant procedure. According to the Turkmen Leader, such work should begin, first of all, in kindergartens, secondary and higher educational institutions.
