Representatives of member states of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in a meeting held in a hybrid format on Thursday focused on issues of mutual recognition by the CIS countries of certificates of vaccination of the population against COVID-19, the CIS Executive Committee said in its press release.
The meeting participants noted that active vaccination of citizens against COVID-19, and the issuing of a national certificate and a QR code confirming the vaccination is underway in all CIS countries, according to the report.
According to the meeting participants, the mutual recognition of vaccination certificates will facilitate the cross-border movement of citizens vaccinated against COVID-19, will restore tourist flows and resume family and business travel.
Representatives of the CIS countries also decided to discuss the issue of creating a Council of heads of authorized bodies in the field of sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population within the framework of the CIS Council for Cooperation in the Field of Healthcare.
The meeting, held at the initiative of the Ministry of Healthcare of Belarus, was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
