Travel companies from Turkmenistan are taking part in the International tourism fair Ferien Messe Wien that has started in Vienna on January 16.
Ferien Messe Wien, Austria’s largest holiday and travel show, takes place in Vienna every January and is one of the largest international travel forums that reflect all modern trends in world tourism.
Turkmenistan exhibited banners advertising the routes of the Great Silk Road, historical monuments inscribed on the UNESCO intangible heritage list, culture, and traditions of the Turkmen people. Videos depicting the country’s modern achievements and development of the tourism industry were also displayed to the visitors of the fair.
During their visit to Austria, Turkmen delegation held meetings with representatives of travel agencies of Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic presenting their expositions at the exhibition.
As a result of talks, travel agencies of Turkmenistan signed cooperation agreements with such travel companies as Klaus und die Welt Reisebüro and Off Roadowa. An agreement with representatives of the tourism sector of the Czech Republic on organizing advanced training courses for Turkmen representatives was reached as well.
The exhibition attracted more than 800 representatives of the tourism business from 80 countries. The international exhibition will continue its work until January 19.
