Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Bayramgeldi Ovezov during an off-site government meeting held in Turkmenabat city on Thursday reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the matters of changing the organizational and legal structure of the Deryaýollary (River Lines) Production Association and transforming it into a joint-stock company, TDH news agency reports.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister’s report, the founders of Deryaýollary JSC will be the Türkmendeňizderýaýollary (Turkmen Maritime and River Transport) Agency, the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and the Deňiz Söwda Floty (Marine Merchant Fleet) CJSC.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that in recent years, large-scale work has been carried out on the development of transport corridors in the country, which contributes to the establishment of Turkmenistan as an important transit hub of the continent. In this regard, the President pointed out the need to modernize the sphere’s infrastructure and the introduction of the latest technologies in the sphere.
The Head of State also stressed that the economic effect of the state property’s privatization is aimed at facilitating the further progress of the ongoing reforms in the country.
