Membership in the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan continues to grow and now stands at about 30,000, the Turkenistan's official media reported Wednesday.
Union members have achieved strong results in livestock and poultry farming, food and industrial production, construction, and other sectors.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow signed the 2026 Socio-Economic Development and Investment Program at an expanded Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Feb. 13. The plan calls for full operation of production enterprises, creation of about 5,300 new jobs through new construction, development of small and medium-sized businesses, raising the private sector’s share of GDP to 72.9%, and investing about 41.2 billion manats ($11.8 billion) in the economy from all sources in 2026.
Founded in March 2008, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan is a public organization that unites representatives of the private sector. The Union defends the rights and legitimate interests of its members and promotes the development of entrepreneurship across the country.
