The Ministry of Motor Transport of Turkmenistan began accepting applications for licenses to conduct road transport operations on Jan. 5, 2026, according to the ministry’s website.
The move is part of efforts to modernize sector legislation. A key change is the simplified application process for individual entrepreneurs and companies through the use of remote submission channels.
Applicants may choose one of two remote submission methods. The first allows a complete set of documents, including scanned originals, to be sent on electronic media by mail. In this case, the application is considered registered on the day the ministry receives the envelope.
The second option involves sending scanned copies of the application and supporting documents to the ministry’s official email address. Under this method, the registration date is the time the applicant receives confirmation of receipt. The original application must be presented when the license is issued.
In-person document submission is available at 126 Archabil Avenue in Ashgabat. Applications are accepted from 10 a.m. to noon, while issued licenses are distributed from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
