Duty Location(s): 1in Ashgabat, TM

Working under the Construction Manager of the Overseas Building Operations (OBO) project team, the Safety Program Coordinator provides professional expertise and guidance relating to site safety and health issues during all phases of construction, including site development, excavation, foundation, superstructure, exterior walls, mechanical and electrical systems, and interior finish work for the New Embassy Compound (NEC) project. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. Department of State as well as host country construction safety and health regulations.

Qualifications and Evaluations

FOR THE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS APPLICANTS MUST MEET EITHER OPTION 1 OR OPTION 2 TO QUALIFY.

Option 1

• EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years in construction with experience in occupational safety or industrial hygiene is required.
• EDUCATION: University degree in safety management, occupational health and safety, environmental safety, construction, engineering, or architecture is required.

Option 2

• EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years in construction with experience in occupational safety or industrial hygiene is required.
• EDUCATION: At least two (2) years college or university studies (no specific field required).

Language 

• English level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Writing/Reading is required.
• Turkmen and/or Russian level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Writing/Reading is required.
• Language proficiency may be tested. Candidates may present Language scores from a certifying language body in lieu of language testing (TOEIC, TOEFL, IBT, FSI, CAMLA, CEFR, MET, BERTLITZ).
• Language ability, both written and spoken, may be tested during the interview process.
