Duties

The English Language Assistant (Teacher) implements Mission Public Diplomacy (PD) English language courses for Emerging Voices (EV) audiences, including youth and minorities.  Provides support for both in-person and virtual English language teaching and learning projects and activities.  Works under the direct supervision of the English Language Coordinator or Public Affairs Officer (PAO) designee and receives work guidance from the Regional English Language Officer (RELO), who may be located in another country.  The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Evaluations

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience in English language teaching.

EDUCATION: A university degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) or Applied Linguistics, or English or Education along with TEFL certification is required.

LANGUAGE:

• Fluent level of English language is required. This may be tested.
• Good Working Knowledge level of Turkmen language is required. This may be tested.
• Good Working Knowledge level of Russian language is required. This may be tested.
