CNLC Turkmenistan Seeks Geological Technician Specialist

A Geological Technician Specialist supports geologists and engineers by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting geological data, soil, and rock samples in both field and lab settings. They install technical equipment, map geological features for resource extraction or construction, and create technical reports, requiring skills in GIS, CAD, and, usually, an associate degree.

  1. Undertake the processing, analysis, and mapping of petroleum geology and development data.
  2. Be proficient in well logging interpretation and undertake research work such as Comprehensive geological analysis and Dynamic analysis of oil and gas field development.
  3. Write geological design reports and technical summary reports.
  4. Conduct customer communication, data collection and organization, technical exchange and presentation, and follow - up on project bidding.
  5. Assist the geological professional manager in project expansion, preparation, and other work.

Recruitment Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English and Russian, and Proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
  • Integrity, maturity, self-confidence, high work enthusiasm, good teamwork spirit; good communication and learning abilities, and good at summarizing, organizing and reporting materials;
  • Familiar with basic professional knowledge in petroleum geology, petroleum engineering, etc., and have relevant work experience in petroleum geology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, and able to independently handle daily technical communication and reporting.
  • Background and connections are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Data Collection: Gather, log, and process rock, mud, and water samples during site visits or drilling operations.
  • Lab Analysis: Perform laboratory tests to determine chemical composition and physical properties of samples.
  • Technical Reporting/Mapping: Utilize GIS, AutoCAD, and other software to create geological maps and reports.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Install, calibrate, and repair scientific equipment, such as seismic sensors.
  • Support Roles: Assist in monitoring environmental impact, checking site compliance, and exploring for natural resources.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Associate degree in geology, mining technology, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred for some roles).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and data management software.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform field work in varied, often remote, locations and weather conditions.
  • Scientific Knowledge: Understanding of geological, geophysical, and geochemical principles.
  • Three to five years of related experience required.
